Due Date- Wednesday, March 16- "Drop Dead Gorgeous." Everyone seemed to enjoy the "household hints" from our "Desperate Housewives" homework, so this month, I thought we'd share our favorite "beauty secrets." Once again, I'm going to give you a lot of creative freedom here. You could make a list of the "must haves" in your makeup bag: favorite lipstick, mascara, eye shadow, perfume, etc. Maybe share that special moisturizer that keeps you looking so young, the foundation that gives you that peaches and cream complexion, and what's the one item you just can't live without? Tell us about your beauty regime. Do you have a special do-it-yourself beauty recipe like an avocado masque or lip balm? Come on! Share with us! Help us be less desperate and become drop dead gorgeous! For extra credit, tell us who you favorite celebrity beauty is and what you like about their look, hair, sense of style, etc...

What's in my bag?

~ My Benefits Bag of Tricks ~

I love Benefits Cosmetics and use several of their products to correct imperfections. Before I put on any eye makeup, I use Lemon Aid on my upper lids. (By the way, I love the names of their products!) It acts as a good base for eye shadows, it evens out skin tone and can even be used alone as a highlighter. I also use EyeCon to reduce puffiness and dark circles under the eyes. Also good for under the eye is Ooh la Lift. This is great for mid-day when your eyes are getting tired because you can apply it right over your makeup to brighten up your eye area. A really great product to give your skin that dewy look is High Beam or as one of our favorite Benefit male demonstrators calls it, Supermodel in a Bottle! (I wasn't able to link the individual products on the Benefit site but you can put the names in the Search field on the site to find them.)

Oil of Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum

About a year ago, Joan told us about this product that was taking New Orleans by storm. They couldn't keep it on the shelves and women were having fistfights over it. Well, Southern women seem to know what they're talking about when it comes to skin care so if figured if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. I've been using it ever since.

~ Beauty Bargains ~

* Best inexpensive mascara, a staple in all model's makeup kits- Maybelline Great Lash in the pink and green tube. I especially like the "washable" version since it washes off easily with soap and water.

* Best inexpensive shampoo and conditioner- Garnier Fructis. There's a product for every hair type and condition and they all smell great!

* Suburban Legend: Not sure if it's true but I've been told that the L'Oreal products that you can buy in drug stores is virtually the same product as Lancome in the department stores.

My favorite perfume is Estee Lauder's Knowing. I like it because whenever I wear it, people ask "What's that wonderful perfume you're wearing?" When I tell them, "Knowing," they often say that it doesn't smell that good on them so I feel like it's my own special fragrance because it works well with my body chemistry.

Thanks, Sadie!

~ Charlize Theron ~

My favorite celebrity beauty is Charlize Theron. Admittedly, she is a natural beauty so it's not like she really has to work on being beautiful. I like that she lets her natural beauty shine through by not wearing too much makeup. I also like that she has a beautiful body that looks real and not surgically enhanced. I always think she is one of the most glamourously dressed stars at the Oscars. She was my #1 pick for last month's Oscar Dish!

Thanks, Kiki!  Thanks, Connie! Thanks, Kathy!  Thanks, Janene!

Thanks, Lisa!  Thanks, Marge!
