Love Summer!!!
It's August!

| My
favorite time of the year is, without a doubt, summer! It's true that in Southern
California the weather is beautiful year-round and the seasons don't change that
much, but still, there is always something about the arrival of summer that brings
back wonderful memories of those carefree days of summer when I was a child. I
think because I am a teacher and still have my summers off from school, I still
feel that sense of exhilaration and freedom that I did as a little girl. |

| We
live about 20 minutes from Malibu and Zuma Beach and our family has all grown
up surfing, boogie boarding, body surfing and tanning in the California sun. There
are bike and roller-blading paths, and we love to take our Golden Retrievers for
a romp on the beach! |
| So
I bet you'd think that when we go away on vacation, we'd go to the mountains or
desert. Well, you're right. We love going to Yosemite and Palm Springs, and the
Colorado Rockies...but, we also love Hawaii. I thought I'd share a few pix from
our October 2001 trip to Maui since they fit so beautifully with this Summer Beach
webset! |
| This
photo was taken at the "Seven Sacred Pools" at
the end of the infamous (for it's one-way bridges and countless
twists and turns) "Road to Hana." It's a fun place
to have a picnic and take a dip. |
| Picture
postcard perfect!!! We took this picture from the Grand Wailea
Hotel while having sushi with our sunset! The name of the
Polynesian style restaurant is Humuhumunukunukuapua'a! How's
that for a mouthful?! It is named after Hawaii's state fish.
The picture below was taken at our favorite snorkeling beach,
Honolu'a Bay. We swam amongst giant sea turtles, eels, and
tropical fish galore! The water was warm and crystal clear...ahh!
|
| One
of our favorite things about Maui is the food. We have discovered what we think
are the finest eating establishments on the island. Topping the list is "Mama's
Fish House!" Don't let the name fool you! It is very upscale and
the food is to die for! Another favorite is Roy's
Kahana Bar & Grill. Don't miss the Swordfish and Ahi Tuna. There are
really so many wonderful places I could go on and on....Just email me if you want
more suggestions! |
