Whoa Nellie!

I have to tell you about more of our day when we took the hike around the Twenty Lakes area. As I mentioned, it’s just outside of Yosemite National Park on the Tioga Pass. Because it was outside of the park, the dogs were able to be off leash and on the trails. Within Yosemite, they are not allowed on the trails at all. National Parks are not much fun for dogs so that’s why we never take them on those trips. On the way up the Tioga Pass, above Lee Vining and overlooking Mono Lake is a very unique, must visit place. It’s a Mobil Gas Station that sells the most delicious gourmet food! Who would figure trendy, amazing food at a gas station? It’s called the “Whoa Nellie Deli” although I don’t think of it as a deli at all. They have a fabulous menu with things like Lobster Taquitos which is what I had. Here’s a photo of my Lobster Taquitos served on a bed of Brazilian black beans topped with tomatillo pineapple salsa and fresh salsa. Continue Reading »

Jessica says that Ryan is the worst sharer in the world! We took Ryan and Jacob to the park yesterday and you can see in the photo below how Ry has his hands on both trucks so no one else can get them. And guess what? They aren’t even his trucks! Jessica is at the end of her rope about this and ready to page Super Nanny but it’s a pretty common problem with 2 and 3 year olds. Any advice out there about learning to share? Continue Reading »
